As Mayor, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the City of Rocklin’s Website. I invite you to explore our Website and learn more about our community, its government, civic services, economic development, parks and recreational opportunities, and cultural history and amenities. Our home page includes current City News and links to other City pages and information including Current Agenda Packets, Municipal Code, Current Job Openings, RFP & Bid Notices, as well as Resident, Business, and Visitor Guides. As you explore, you will find that Rocklin is a great City in which to live, work, operate a business, enjoy recreational activities, and raise a family. Rocklin is ideally located at the junction of Interstate 80 and State Highway 65, near the base of the Sierra foothills in California’s Gold Country. As a result, it is within twenty minutes of Folsom Lake, thirty minutes of downtown and Old Sacramento, and less than two hours from Lake Tahoe, the Pacific Ocean, and San Francisco.
Rocklin is rich in traditions and history. Incorporated in 1893, Rocklin became known for granite mining. Not many know this, but Rocklin’s granite was used in the State Capital building, along with many other buildings in San Francisco and around California. Because of the value placed on our history, many of our original granite bridges from early settlements have also been preserved and designed into our City park sites.
Like many cities in California, Rocklin has experienced rapid growth since 2000 (averaging 6% per year population growth). The City’s current population is approximately 57,901 and is expected to reach 76,136 by 2030. Unlike many cities in California, Rocklin still maintains the highest quality of life and is known for its very low crime rates, excellent schools, and beautiful parks. Family Circle magazine named Rocklin one of the “10 Best Towns” for families in America.
We are revamping our approach to business to make it easier, faster and more advantageous to all business in the city to develop, promote and sustain operations for generations. Please ask to see one of our staff to find out how to “grow with Rocklin”
I encourage you to stop by and get to know Rocklin, whether it is just for a visit or if you are looking for a place to open a business, and/or live. Whether you are a Resident, Business, or Visitor, Rocklin has something for you.
Thank you for visiting our Website. If you have questions about our community, please feel free to contact our staff.
Sincerely,

Brett Storey
Mayor, City of Rocklin
