Pet Waste

Did you know that pet waste carries bacteria, and if left on the ground, can make people sick?
It can also wash into storm drains, polluting your community and waterways. Some pathogens found in pet waste can find their way into creeks and wetlands, where they can make wildlife and humans sick. The following are ways pet owners can help prevent pollution: - Pick up after your pet every time. Most pet supply stores carry products that make picking up easy.
- Dispose of pet waste in the garbage. Never wash it into the gutter or down a storm drain.
- Carry extra bags in your car so you’re prepared when traveling with your pet.
- Get involved in a pet group and remind others to pick up after their pets.
