CITY OF ROCKLIN THEATRICAL PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

Bye, Bye Birdie
July 10-19, 2009
Ticket price: $12 per person

Noted as one of the most captivating musical shows of our time, "Bye Bye Birdie" tells the story of a rock and roll singer about to be inducted into the army. For publicity, the Elvis Presley-type singer will honor a typical teenage girl with an all-American kiss. The stunt grows until it is decided that the kiss will take place on the Ed Sullivan Show. Birdie is tired of being supervised and is ready to go out on his own. His agent’s girlfriend is ready for marriage and ensues in capturing her prey. This satire is done with the fondest affection to the time, the people, and everyday life in the fifties.

Treasure Island
September 25, 2009 - October 4, 2009
Ticket price: $8 per person
Excitement runs high in the musical adaptation of the favorite childhood adventure story. Robert Louis Stevenson's thrilling tale of pirates, treasure maps, and mutiny on the high seas follows young Jim Hawkins into a dangerous race for buried treasure against the treacherous one-legged, Long John Silver. In the words of the author, 'If this don't fetch the kids, why they have gone rotten since my day.'
The Sound of Music
December 11-20, 2009
Ticket price: $12 per person
Based on the real-life escapades of the Trapp family singers, the play retells the story of the affectionate governess who teaches the seven children to love music and captures the heart of the stern Captain. The couple marries, only to discover that Nazis have invaded Austria. The family narrowly escapes into the mountains where 'the hills are alive forever.' The wonderful music of 'Maria,' 'My Favorite Things,' and 'Do Re Me' have been household favorites for years.
