CITY OF ROCKLIN THEATRICAL PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

Wonderful Town
July 11-20, 2008
Ticket price: $12 per person

This musical chronicles the adventures and misadventures of two sisters who move from Ohio to New York, to fulfill their dreams. Ruth is an aspiring writer, average in appearance, who can't seem to keep a Man's attention. Eileen, a fledgling actress, is Ruth's opposite. She is a beautiful dancer, who, without even trying, has men fall at her feet.

The girls lease a studio apartment, which while lacking charm and privacy, invites interesting characters into their lives. They encounter Appopolous, their artist/landlord; Wreck, a former football player and his live-in fiancé and her mother; Violet, questionable previous tenant of their apartment; and a precinct of friendly police officers.

The experiences of the girls are entirely different in their “Wonderful Town.” When Ruth tries her hand at newspaper work, she gets herself arrested, along with half of the Brazilian navy. Eileen creates a social disaster when she invites three men to the same dinner party. By the end of the evening, things work out for both girls and “It's Love.”
