The tradition began in 1968 when a group of local citizens formed a committee to plan a festival to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Rocklin's incorporation, which was called the Diamond Jubilee. This marked the beginning of Rocklin's Jubilee history with an estimated 10,000 visitors attending that inaugural festival in 1968.
On Tuesday, January 27, the Rocklin City Council approved staff's recommendation to suspend the 2009 Rocklin Jubilee. The difficult decision to suspend the 2009 Jubilee was necessary due to the current economic down turn.
