The Investigations Unit is committed to serving the citizens and businesses of Rocklin and to providing skills and expertise for the solving of crimes within our city.

What does the Investigations Unit do?
The Investigations Unit provides support and conducts investigations for other Rocklin Police Department units. Often these investigations take many hours of field and office work before an arrest can be made or before the case can be forwarded to the Placer County District Attorney’s office for review and action.

The Investigations Unit provides information on fraud prevention including scams and how to prevent identity theft.

Our crime scene investigation team and the suspect-identification experts are major components of our unit. Crimes investigated include:Cell Number 2

  • robbery
  • child and elder abuse
  • burglary
  • theft
  • drug trafficking
  • domestic violence

Teamwork
One of the Investigations Unit’s officers is assigned to the Placer County Special Investigations Unit. This group of officers, consisting of law enforcement agencies in Placer County, works together to investigate crimes that occur throughout the county as well as those in Rocklin. This team brings together resources to insure a greater success rate of arrests and convictions.
