 | |  | Commercial Projects Exceptions for Commercial Projects A building permit may not be required for all residential projects.  | New State Code Effective January 1, 2011 | | All new permit submittals received on or after January 1, 2011 will be required to meet the new 2010 California Building Standards Codes which are based on the International Building Codes. The adopted text for the new code may be viewed at the California Building Standards Commission's website under the "2009 Annual Code Adoption Cycle" link. Title 24 Code Adoption Cycle Highlights include but are not limited to the following significant changes: - New California Residential Code in Part 2.5 based on the International Residential Code
