How will I know when it's time to renew?
A renewal notice is automatically sent to you by mail.

What if I don't get a renewal notice?
Call the Finance Division at 916.625.5000 to get the amount you owe on your renewal.

What if I don't renew on time?
You have 30 days from the day the license expires to renew. After 30 days, you will be charged late penalties.

How long is the animal license valid?
Typically, a dog license is valid until the expiration date of the rabies/exempting certificate.
