Per Capita Sales Tax Figures Comparison
Sales taxes are an important component of city revenues. In California, sales taxes are generally the No. 1 or No. 2 largest revenue source for California cities. In Rocklin, sales taxes represent the 2nd largest revenue source and about 25% of general fund revenues. The following is a comparison chart showing per capita sales tax revenues for Rocklin and area communities. Rocklin, at $153 per capita, has just recently reached a level slightly above the California state per capita average at $151, but we still lag behind nearby communities, such as Roseville at $405 per capita, West Sacramento at $300 per capita and Folsom at $261 per capita.
